Body plug material options

Body plugs are a kind of earring that have a big diameter and are used in stretch piercing, a number of body plugs used these days include flesh tunnels, ear plugs as an example. These tunnels are typically inserted into an earlobe that has been stretched through a process known as “gauging”, this is when a normal ear piercing hole is made bigger by inserting bigger and bigger inserts. Body plugs serve the same function as earrings or any other kind of decorative piece that is used for body modification and they are not exclusive to the earlobe, they are being used in other areas of the body as well. There are a large number of designs of body plugs being used these days and here are some of the more popular ones.
Glass is becoming a more and more popular choice when it comes to body plugs because they are versatile and they do not usually cause an allergic reaction.

Wood is a fantastic body plug and organic too, the downside is that they have to be lubricated on a regular basis in order to stop them from drying out.
Silicon is another type of body plug that is fast becoming one of the most versatile and popular kind of body plug as it is very malleable and so they are a lot easier to insert into the earlobe or other body part. Silicon being a porous material needs to be kept lubricated and oiled before insertion.
Finally there are body plugs made from bone, these are a good choice as they can be sculpted into a number of different shapes and styles. Some people may be allergic to bone body plugs however, and so they are not suitable for everyone.
There are other materials used to make body plugs and these include titanium and stainless steel and these are just as good as the ones listed above.
