More extreme body modifications

Recognized universally as tongue splitting this extreme body modification sees the tongue divided in the middle which creates a forked tongue appearance and this is typically completed by laser surgery or by the use of a scalpel.
Another extreme body modification is the procedure known as corneal tattooing which involves the eyeball being tattooed, ouch! In my opinion eyeballs and needles do not are not a perfect match but a number of people clearly disagree. The process is often performed by using a traditional tattoo artist’s needle. The eye is kept open at the same time as the color is introduced straight into the cornea.

Another extreme body modification that involves the eye is the placing of a tiny piece of jewelry into the eyeball and this has been heavily criticized by doctors across the globe. Some have called it “invasive surgery” and it is accepted wisdom that it originated in the Netherlands a few years ago.

In a similar vein to human branding scarring involves a design being carved onto the skin so that as soon as the wounds restore to health they will have produced the design requested. As you would have thought the procedure is a great deal more agonizing but people who have gone for this kind of scarification have told stories in relation to how this kind of scarring is becoming more personal to them and others and to a certain degree more representational of their personality.
A much more rare kind of body modification has seen a number of people have begun to have operations on their ears to turn their human ears turned into those of a mythological elf. This restructure is accomplished by a cautious dissection from the peak of the ear which is then reinstated by a specifically created flap that has been fashioned from the cartilage and skin of the person undergoing the procedure.
